Start with a grant and a real project
Bring the current program guidelines (also called application guidelines), application questions and any required forms. You will also need your organisation details, a description of the project and the costs you expect to incur. GrantAlly works from those documents and facts.
Check the requirements before writing
Review the grant’s eligibility requirements alongside source references. Confirm the facts about your business, location, project and timing. GrantAlly then gives its recommendation on “Should you apply?” before anything is written. An unanswered requirement stays visible for review; the funder makes the eligibility decision.
Separate eligible costs from total costs
Review each cost as eligible, excluded or unresolved. The funding calculation uses eligible expenditure and the grant’s applicable percentage, cap and contribution rules. Resolve uncertain costs before relying on the request amount.
An excluded expense can still be part of the project. You need to understand how you will pay for it. Follow the $30,000 project budget example.
Prepare answers from your information
GrantAlly uses AI to draft answers to the funder’s questions using your project details and supporting records. Missing information and uncovered parts of a question need your attention. Edit each answer and check the assessment criteria and length limits.
Review claims and attachments
Required attachments may include letters of support. Check the program guidelines for the documents your application needs.
When a statement is flagged as unsupported, you can confirm it, add evidence or remove it. An intention to attach a document is different from having the final document ready. Check every required attachment before finishing your pack.
It means the preparation checks have been resolved in the workflow. It does not mean the funder has accepted your application or guaranteed funding.
Review, export and submit
Read the final answers, check figures and complete declarations yourself. Download the application (where the funder uses a PDF application form, a copy with your answers typed in for you to check (online portals and Word forms are not filled in)), then submit through the funder’s required portal or process. An export is not a submission.
Unfamiliar wording? Use our Australian grant terminology guide alongside the funder’s documents.
Is it a fit for your business?
The clearest fit is a small business or community organisation with an identified opportunity, a defined project, costs and access to supporting information. Check document compatibility and the grant’s complexity before choosing the software. GrantAlly does not provide a grant discovery database or a done-for-you consultancy service.
